Help w2lie: Add a live feed

I am looking for help on the live feeds.

If you have a spare scanner, and a computer with an "always on" connection, then you can help w2lie.net by adding a live feed to this site!

Any location is perfect!?

I can only supply so many feeds at once.? I am having memory issues with my current pc, so 3 feeds is stretching the system a bit.
Also, having remote/relay feeds will help the coverage area!

Anyone who wants to share their feed will be given some status on this site...(not that it means all that much)

It is easy to setup a live feed.  And, best of all, the software that you need is completely free!!

Shoot me a PM if you'd like to setup a remote feed.? Its quick and easy.. (knock on wood)! angry.png

I have plenty of xtra receivers and computers. I will host CW1NY and put a link to it (using YOUR url) on my website. Shoot me an e-mail and we'll talk about the "how to's". Mail me at -email-.

Hal Goldenberg CW 100

P.S. I am going to get off my LAZY (and busy) duff and get another ham ticket. I WAS N2EML back in the 80's.

What scanners are the best out there for under $400? I am looking into possibly getting a newer one (other than my $60 pro-97) and hooking it up to my new PC, and setting up a live feed. Any ideas?

I bought the BCT-8 because it was cheap.... I wish I didn't.
I picked up a BC898T for $10 more than the 8, and that is what is running the NCFD-East feed.

Maybe this should be a post in the FORUMS now?

May I ask what you are going to be streaming?? Any chance you can help me out with a feed?

i havent been around awhile as im now a small busniess owner (not alot of time, lol).
Phil, you can remote my feed on your site if you like.
although im not scanning everything except for precints 1-7 and command, and im not as advanced as some of the others i am begnining to see, (live screen display and stats), i do have good sound quality and minimal downtime.
the only downtime to the feed is during extended power outages or network outages.
there may come a time in the future that the feed may go offline for several hours or days, this will be because of a location move. (east end long island) and a warning will be posted on the site.
thanks and have a great day.
