Im good Friends with a NCPD Officer and i asked him what a Signal 10 is and he said it meant to call command on a phone. I said to him so it could be that theres an assignment that they dont want to say over the radio and he said "yes, or its... can you pick up lunch" (laghing) i said ok thanks.

A few years ago Long Beach PD moved from proprietary codes to the County codes.

We retained two codes not used by Nassau County:

10-50 is a motor vehicle accident (including pedestrian or bicyclist struck).

10-70 is a Fire Department Call.

The radio caller would elaborate as the the nature of the 10-50 or 10-70 if/when possible.

NYPD uses the signal 10-53 for a MVA, not 50. A 10-50 is a disorderly group or noise complaint.

Most Police Departments use 10-50 as Auto Accident. I'm surprised the NCPD's are mostly administrative and don't describe situations.
