It looks like it might be time to redesign the front page again.

Looking over it lately, it seems too busy for my own tastes, and needs to be easier on the eyes.   Part of the change will be to group the news items together in a grid, instead of stacked ontop of eachother.   Additionally, only a summary of each news article will be on the front page.  Continuing to read the article will require a click.  This should save some space on the page.

We will be working to unclutter some of the ads as well, but those ads help pay for the site.  If we can get some local business to pay for some banner space, that will allow me to remove some of the "PPC" adds you see on the site.  Of course, a premium account will remove all the "nonsence" ads you see as well.

Besides reformating the news layout, and compressing some of the ads, what other changes should we try and include or remove from the front page?   Now would be the time to leave some feedback and I will attempt to get as much of that done as possible.

We're also looking to bring back the mobile theme, which gave us some problems in the past.  We're looking to roll the new front page and mobile theme out together.

Please leave your thoughts below.
Thanks!

Is this just for the front page? For the front page it would be cool to see something that would reference any new info added to your freqs pages.

I have thoughts on other pages that I will put here now.

In order to look up a scpd fleet code or 10 codes, one has to click freqs, then then Suffolk police, then either scpd freqs or codes. Can all the headings be listed on the main page? One could click freqs, see every heading laid out, whether its codes, divisions, freqs or layouts, they could just click what they want..

East Hampton trs is listed under the scpd trs. Not sure if your aware of that. One looking for trunked systems in Suffolk might not find that system.

As for fire depts, could the depts be listed by division in alphabetical order? And in a division where a fd on a trs, just a reference or click-able link pointing to the trs in question?

I know some fd are on the east hampton trs. Think it would look kinda cool and would eliminate the need for a separate page listing the divisions..

And also on the freqs page, the first 2 entries labeled Frequencies and Codes are click-able links that only seem to reload the current page.

And last but not least, On the menu bar under home, there is Road map listed. When I click it I get "Fatal error: Call to a member function add() on a non-object in /home/w2lien/public_html/e107/apps/bugtracker3/handlers/bugtracker3_app.php on line 123"
