Unless you had one antenna cut for VHF and one antenna cut specifically for UHF I wouldn't suggest combining two antennas. Especially if they are cut to use the same bands and you aren't using any type of filtering device to direct what part of the band comes from which antenna. I think you are better off using one antenna at a time if they are for general coverage. |

| If you are concentrating on NCPD probably a UHF antenna. I wouldn't spend too much because they could shut down the legacy system (477-478) at any time and use their 500 MHz P25 by itself, and right now they are all encrypted so there won't be much to listen too if that happens. |

I Picked up a TRAM 1450 UHF Antenna a few Months Back For the Ham Radio
This Antenna Does Cover up to 520 Megs and the Elements are Tuneable to the Frequency Range You Need
Alot of Times I Use it For My Scanners--GREAT RECEIEVE Compared to the Discone I was Using-(Nassau County comes in 100 Times Better here in Bay Shore (Suffolk County)
This Antenna Cost me 49.95 from Palmmetto Antennas---(Palmmetto Antennas.com)---He Ships Fast
The Antenna is Small and Lightweight and Comes with all the Mounting Hardware for the Mast
