| I just purchased a Uniden BCD996XT scanner and I amn wondering what would be the best software for me to purchase. My computer uses Vista and has no serial ports. Thanks, Artie

| Hi Artie, I suggest using the ARCXT software from BuTel. I have been a fan of BuTel software since the old 780XLT days.
If you want to try a free app, take a look at freescan. Keep in mind, in order to program the scanner you'll need a serial to USB adapter, or the Uniden USB Cable.

| Phil, Thanks for the info. I am using Butel software with my BC-780XLT's and like it very much. I ordered the Uniden USB cable and once I receive it, I will order the ARCXT software. 73 and Thanks, Artie | Back to top | | |
