RUMOR: Has it That the F.D.N.Y is SWITCHING OVER to the NEW ASSIGNED Frequencies in tthe 484.XXXXX MHZ. on JAN.1st,2013

Like I Said this is UNCONFIRMED but Keep Your EARS on the NEW Freqs

The FDNY has been operating on the new UHF Frequencies for months now with no problems. Post MDC Signalling has been added as well. They have been Simulcasting the UHF on the VHF the whole time. Rumor is that the VHF may be coming off the air in January to comply with the Narrowbanding amendment, but NYC has been also granted an extension due to the amount of units in the field that require the change over, but last I heard (and I do work for the FDNY) that all units in the field have been switched. We shall see in a few days.....

10/4 mikey...thanks for the additional info...i got radios comming in soon just for the fdny freqs...lol and for possible feeds on here

Well Needless to say the the SWITCH OVER Never Took Place on Jan 1st,2013 as Rumored--FDNY is Still on the ASSIGNED Frequencies in VHF 154.190 / 250 / 370 / 400 / 430==Still Simulcasted on the 484 Freqs==I Got Some Info that an EXTENSION was Submitted to the FCC for Details Unknown at this time
