What freq do you think you are hearing a control channel?

I am in East Islip and I entered those freqs 3 different ways.

I entered as a conv system

I entered as a trs

I set a custom search range from 936.0000 to 939.9250

Scanner has not made a sound.

I work very close to MacArthur Airport and will bring the scanner in with me tonight and see if I hear anything.. Being that I can receive Nassau's trs from here, and hear nothing on the 900Mhz freqs, I would assume its not a control channel but rather something else thats low power..

Sorry for the late reply, I've been under the weather last couple days.
Unfortunately I deleted the system from my scanner and I don't recall which frequency I was tracking.

^ right - I have noticed the same thing Kiddbrother - not a incredible amount of activity on the gas/electric service freqs as they mainly use their computer systems...
Most of the comms sound like someone just asking a quick question about a transformer or something....
Or they probobly give information about jobs over the air if say the computer system is down and whatnot...

Anyway - has anyone in Suffolk heard anything on the LIPA 900mhz trunked system? Callsign WPUG698 [link]

I have the freqs just programmed in regularly and I haven't heard any control channel noise or anything - then again im in Nassau so im probobly a bit out of range...
