I haven't heard NCPD precincts 1 & 7 (on 478.5375) in several days. Has anyone?

They are down. I heard from a very good source that the county is no longer paying to maintain the old repeaters. There is no money or interest in keeping the equipment in working order, and when they need repair, no parts can be ordered. I would expect this to be the county's way of finally finding a way to phase out the simulcast. This was posted to the W2LIE.net Facebook page on Wednesday, August 6th:

Is it safe to assume that all Nassau fire departments are now equipped with P25 encrypted radios making the simulcast pretty much redundant?

everything is "done" with a "phone call"... Behold... The power of a phone call.
On a side note, the waiver for narrowband, time to shut down or payola to maintain |

Now it's the 3rd and 6ths turn. Haven't heard them in the last day or so. I always wonder if it'll be the last time. |

I can see the Talk Group for 3 / 6 on the Trunk System, and you are correct, the UHF Repeater is silent. |
