Had to go to Stony brook today. The cc was strongest for me using my 436 around sayville bowl in sayville . Lost signal on Nichols road at 495. I dont think the seldon/farmingville site is up . After looking at the locations on the map for the freqs being used, it has to be hauppauge . |

band plan for CC 772.91875Mhz.
i have to say, the audio quality sounds terrible for P25, i hope it eventually gets better. only have been hearing the 3rd PCT on 6257.

Been getting more and more hits on 700mhz lately So far i have the following: 770.1687 770.4187 770.9437 773.0687 774.0562 774.3437 774.8812
Not sure if these have anything to do with the new Suffolk system - they sound like possibly data/control channel then again im picking this up on a 996xt which is not Phase 2 capable I ran a few searches on these and the only freqs i came up with are 774.3437 is part of the NYC system and 774.8812 is for the Westchester system Didnt find any of the other freqs for the entire country...

OH.... I didn't know they were getting a new system. Make me long for the days of VHF....I guess that's been 20 years ago now. |

Where are you scanning from? I am in the 3rd pct and I have to struggle to get any reception. I wonder if the 3rd pct units are actually using any new radios or if the are just broadcasting the 3rd onto the new system..

I wonder if the 3rd pct units are actually using any new radios or if the are just broadcasting the 3rd onto the new system.. im receiving from hampton bays with a decent signal (roof top commercial 700/800Mhz high gain omnidirectional/LMR400 coax/10dB amp) but it does not appear to be coming from a local tower in this area, the signal is far too weak for decent portable reception despite the fact i am using a custom made high gain 700Mhz portable antenna. i would like to know where the transmission is originating from for 772.918.7Mhz since at this point it appears to be a single transmission and not multiple simulcasts as detailed on the FCC license page. if anyone could provide signal stats as to how well 772.918.7Mhz is being received in their area on a portable radio or desktop radio without an external antenna, it would be appreciated. |

elitedata,
What do you mean by "772.918.7 MHz"? That's not a valid frequency format.
Do you mean 772.91870 or maybe 772.91875? |

Never mind - I see above where you referenced 772.91875.
Have you picked up any site ID info! |

yes. its the same info as my previous post where i heard only the third precinct. i dont think they were using the new radio system, i believe it was just being rebroadcast. since my posting yesterday, i have heard no voice activity but the control channel has been up and running. |
