| Sorry, not seeing this at all. I do see this sort of thing with digital systems due to LSM distortion but I've never seen it with an analog system like Suffolk County.
What exactly are you getting? Distortion, weak signals etc? | Back to top | | |

| im in hampton bays, i can easily observe this from a site located not far from me. the site near me does not seem to always transmit with the rest of the sites and as a result, i am receiving a site further west into suffolk. this issue is not prevalent with the control channel though. i concluded an experiment using two radios, a portable and a desktop. desktop unit is connected to a high gain omni on the roof tuned for the proper band. portable is using a tuned portable antenna for the proper band. placing the portable in an area to receive good control channel signal and setting both units to a specific group, i observed the following. the desktop unit receives the frequency assigned to the specific group from the control channel with slight static. the portable tunes to the frequency assigned from the control channel to the same group but does not receive it (group appears and disappears quickly) during listening, both receivers will occasionally receive the assigned frequency to the group clearly. in other words, it appears as if the networking between the sites, which i assume is controlled by radio and has a wired network for redundancy, is working intermittently. the officers in the patrol vehicles are often experiencing the same issue as well depending on their location and distance. i dont know if i have explained this well enough to be understood, its not a group or reception issue, it definitely appears to be a site networking sync issue and not all the sites are in sync all the time resulting in some sites transmitting and other not transmitting.
