MTA to change bus radio transmissions despite FCC warning, raising safety concerns Supposedly this is going to be a 700mhz TETRA system What is not clear yet is if this is set to replace the 800mhz NYC Transit system - or the 900mhz "MTA Regional Bus" system There are numerous MTA 700mhz trunk licenses - not sure if that is related to this or not...

I guess this is the end of it - FCC nixes TETRA use on 800 MHz, 700 MHz public-safety bands I wonder how this is going to affect New Jersey Transit - i know they were also in the process of building a 800mhz Tetra system...
