I havent found much info in the databases regarding services such as DPW,etc in the Great Neck area(im not even exactly sure what departments they have as a village and whatnot ) but so far this is what i have picked up on some frequencies licensed to great neck...
KEG231 - GREAT NECK PARK DISTRICT 151.415 Possible fire dept or security references being made to checking alarms, etc units calling "Central" also heard some school buses with a DPL of 134
I get a lot of what sounds like either simplex DMR or possibly even P25 on both 151.010 and 465.500(and yes this is received in the immediate great neck area) The reason being is that it sounds like DMR or perhaps some other digital voice but a bit more "distorted -ish" as opposed to standard digital voice It could also be some type of "image" or interference from other more powerful nearby frequency I dont think i have ever decoded simplex digital voice Not even sure if any of the newer radios or decoders can do simplex...
151.415 is analog and possibly their park security(if this is the case then its low power/simplex)
I also get pager data as well as possibly what sounds like a fire dept. fireground on 465.500
Also im pretty sure that 155.835 PL156.7 is the "Village of east hills" DPW [link] Thing is it seems that same frequency and tone is shared with some upstate fire dept. but i dont usually pick that up except when weather conditions are good with a outside antenna...
