Any of you Nassau Countians attend that meeting? I always drove to work even when working 8 to 4 but always rode the trains on my days off because...well I love trains & I truly believed the main line should have long been quadruple track from Jamaica straight pass the Montauk cutoff to Hicksville Divide Tower with two going North to Port Jeff & two going straight out to Ronkonkoma, actually with the heavily increased traffic load within the past 5 years the main line should have been triple track south of Divide to RK, get rid of that Dinky or whatever it's being called nowadays then double tracked straight to Riverhead so you don't have like a thousand East enders packing RK's platforms like the Chinese railroad stations needing platform conductors to pack their commuters in the coaches like sardines. Glad to hear nobody got killed or seriously hurt in that Atlantic Terminal bumper block derailment.

LIRR: Route of the Dashing Commuter

Little known trivia that only old fossils like me who rode the ping pongs or happily inhaled the exhaust of the long hood forward Alcos in the 50's knew. It used to be called the Route of the "Dashing Dan"

Have a good one everybody.
