Wow thats funny you put that freq because i was actually going to do a FOTD with the same freq
But i actually am not positive who is using it I actually get a few tones on it but most commonly PL 100.0 which is possibly some type of security or facility management?...

U R CORRECT!!!!! It is North Shore Towers Security: WNVM531 which is on a community repeater with a small number of users in the Metro NYC/Long Island area. Okay now you must reveal to me what "FOTD" is? I Googled it & their answer was "Face Of The Day" I kinda doubt that's what your definition is though.

I meant frequency of the day by fotd - i was going to put 464.425 up just to see what anyone else was picking up because i wasnt sure what i was hearing
Its also licensed to Levitown schools [link] and Chaminade [link]
Nothing is listed in the RR Database for that freq
On 464.425 PL100.0 i have things logged down like "Number 1 2 and 3 are okay , lights are off, no one in the field"
Ive had it in my radio for a while most likely because sometimes i throw some School district freqs in just to see if other agencies may be using them such as fire depts ,etc ..

DC2DLSDR: Are you sure its N Shore Towers security? I have it as N. Shore Towers maintenance. I show their security on 462.7875 DPL165.
Darkstar: The station you're hearing with a PL of 100.0 is Levittown schools
I've also heard Queens College on that frequency with a PL of 141.3

FOTD: Frequency Of The Day...Live & learn. Nawton your probably right, some years ago when I was working District 12 I used to go off property for meal & converse with some CO-OP City Security officers before it became a Public Safety Department & they originally had one frequency they had to share with maintenance & leasing then they were eventually assigned their own frequency & retained the original shared frequency for after hours chit chats, prolly the same with North Shore, I had a list from CRB that had them all on it & 99% of the original Mitchell Lama, CO-OP & Condo security UHF assignments were 25 kHz spaced & the expanded assignments were either 12.5 kHz spaced or they went T-Band. Back then most of the assigned frequencies were pretty much all their own or on small customer based subscription repeater services. Same with the proliferation of NYC's private ambulances that migrated to UHF from low & high band frequencies. A very few private ambulances like Metropolitan Ambulance (Formally Holmes) migrated from low band straight to a non trunked 800 MHz frequency.
462.7875 MHz WQTK349 Comes back to an independent security contractor called FALCON 14 LLC based in Manhattan so maybe North Shore is subcontracting which means those security guards are not Special Patrolman with limited Peace Officer powers under the NYC Code like CO-OP City, Starret City, Roosevelt Island, Sea Gate & some others. |

I was sure when I first logged it, but I haven't monitored it in years. If I were you, I wouldn't submit it without confirming it myself.

I wont submit it until im certain Still hearing the same stuff about checking lights , fields ,etc Seems to be active at night but i still cant pinpoint if it is security or just general facility maintenance I get about a 3 or 4 bar strength and it comes in fairly clear A 50 watt repeater atop the north shore towers would generally come in good all across the county while a 25 watt repeater atop a school in Levittown may reach a few towns over or so Im not too far from levittown so it could be either or...
