| For a while, I have been looking for an equivalent to stridsberg devices. Right now, I am in an apartment that faces East. No roof or outdoor installs allowed. Plus I am more of a private person and don't like to advertise that I own scanners or sdr goodies.
Right now, I have an antronix 1 port amp (15dB Gain One Output 5-1002Mhz w/ Power Adapter) It works good. I am in East Islip, and can receive some NYPD and one of the DOITT systems. I also get awesome decode rates on the Nassau P25 and can get the Edacs system. Not much else from nassau. That 1 port amp has 16 feet of coax to make it to my desk. At the moment, I have a 4 way splitter for (until I make my dual dongle box with 1 ant input) 2 scanners and 2 dongles. I ran a few tests and with and without the splitter, there is a 10 db difference. That being -10 when splitting.
That being said, I don't know much about the specs and numbers.
I am either looking for an 8 port splitter with zero loss (without a built in amp) to run off the 1 port amp I have now. Or one of the following 3, 8 port amp/splitters.
All I want is the ability to use 8 ports if needed and have an amplified signal. That could be either a whole 8 port amp combo or a seperate amp feeding an 8 port zero loss splitter.
I narrowed it down to these 3
PCT-MA2-8P +4dB boost per port (nothing about loss)
PCT VC-9U lists zero loss (Says 0.0 db gain)
Electroline EDA-UG2802 lists zero loss (Says 0.0 db gain)
Is 0.0 gain mean zero, like no gain at all?
If there is an 8 port zero loss slitter tehan I might get the Lna4all [link]
Any help advice and opinion are welcome

| Stridesbergs are worth their weight in gold until they fail which isn't often enough for most end users to consider them inferior designed or manufactured plus it is said their customer service & repair program is second to none, personally I'd go with Ameritron who offers 4,5 & 8 port non amplified antenna switches for remote use with a power cable for the switch relays. It's intended design is to feed multiple antennas from one radio but most guys like use it to feed one antenna from multiple radios.

I'd recommend [link] but their components are commercial grade with serious price tags attached.

| Ridiculous as it may sound I have had a lot of luck with TV amplified splitters. I also have stidesberg stuff.
