W2LIE was kind enough to be host the stream for us so turn it on and hear what gmrs is all about. Look for the [link] stream on your Scanner Radio Deluxe phone app or tune in on 462.625mhz. Good place for family and friends to talk with repeater coverage across the island. Talk about everyday events or have that back up communications system for you, your friends, and family. SHTFLI Info-Net each sunday night at 20:30hrs. Tune in.

I have been listening to these guys for awhile. A lot of their members are also hams. S.H.T.F. isn't exactly what I would have named the club... |

Name gets the attention as it was intended to. Name of the organization behind it is KLIC.LLC or Keeping Long Island Connected. If anyone has any questions about it's purpose please let me know. What I can say is that its members make it what it is and all share a common interest in being prepared. |

Bringing Life Back to this Old Thread---Yes this GMRS Club Known as BRIDGECOMM Communications is Alive and Well with Over 100 Plus Members and Can be Streamed Right Here on W2LIE Live Feed
This is Part of The Mission Statement;
---*(Keeping Long Island Connected)*---
Are you prepared for the next disaster?
Do you have all the resources needed to keep your family safe?
These are some basic questions that thousands of Long Islanders have been asking themselves since experiencing the devastation left in Super Storm Sandy’s wake. The team at Bridging The Gap Communications want to provide the answer to these and many other questions to Long Islanders.
The website was started by Long Island residents who felt the need to take all the useful information needed before, during, and after a disaster hits and compile it into one comprehensive emergency preparedness website for all Long Island Residents to see. Our goal is to get local information to the residents of Long Island without them having to search for hours on the internet, while giving them a community based forum to discuss past, current, and future events.

Lately i have been monitoring a bit of GMRS as i have a GMRS radio with a scan mode And i was glad to hear a decent amount of activity Channels 15 16 and 17 being repeaters with the most activity Coming in loud and clear in Nassau I think one of the repeaters is run by "BLUECOMM" which is a GMRS group founded by first responders
