462.585 is not a valid frequency , in the US at least
If you are picking up 462.585 it could be either a problem with your receiver or the transmitter itself
Receiving "Invalid" frequencies can also happen when nearby a hi powered transmitter

| Weird, I was hearing like Staten Island, both PD and FD when I monitor it in Bayside, Floral Park, and New Hyde Park. |

Most likely Nypd and Fdny
Their freqs are usually in the 470-480mhz range
but yes i have also got "false hits" on various non NYPD freqs anywhere around 460 and 470mhz when in the queens/nyc area

The 462.5850 Search Nothing Found--But 462.5875 is a GMRS/FRS Channel 2 Frequency--2 watt frs / 5 watt gmrs
Highly Doubtful any FD or Pd is Using This Freq Posted---Could be Tropo Ducting Happening or you Were Real Close to a Txmitter Site |

I wasnt suggesting FD or PD was actually using this freq rather the point being is that when in and nearby NYC its possible to "falsely" receive NYPD/FDNY traffic on other freqs around 460/470mhz due to the power
Unless someone was actually simulcasting NYPD/FD over GMRS...

Years ago someone was re-broadcasting 46.32 on a GMRS channel. It was in the Wantagh/Bellmore area.
Someone feeding NYPD & FDNY into a GMRS radio?

But no cheating guys - you should post what you HEAR on this FOTD, not what you see in the FCC database .
