I'm hearing a simulcast of 154.115 on 468.0375 DPL 423 pretty strong from Eastern Nassau.

Is this simulcast owned by Firecom or is it like a cross band someone made? Are the VAC’s looking to go UHF?

Only license i could find for 463/468.0375 is Atlantic beach EMS WPPC238
Seems to be licensed as a mobile repeater

I'm told this is a cross band repeater.

According to the NIFOG frequency planning manual, this is one of the new splinter frequencies that falls in between the original 10 Medcom channels.
Agencies are required to license their use.

I've also noticed that only Atlantic Beach EMS has licensed this frequency at 4 and 2 watts (input and output). I think this is coming from somewhere else in the county since this is a STRONG signal from where I am.

It is also setup in Reverse - meaning the transmit frequency is actually the receive frequency, and what should be the receive frequency is the transmit.

That would make sense. When I first programmed in the frequency, I was receiving Atlantic Beach EMS 5x5 on a XPR 7550. I noticed now that Mineola Volunteer Ambulance barely comes in over here in North Massapequa.

I'm in North Massapequa and pick up Atlantic Beach EMS, Mineola, and Wantagh Levittown's dispatch on the UHF simulcast loud and clear.

I’m pretty sure it’s a reception issue with my radio, mainly due to having only portables right now. I’m certain with a better base setup at my house, I would receive it loud and clear.

If you have portable that you use at home, you could get a cheap lna amp and adapt to bnc. I am in an apartment and have an ant in the window with a lna on it to use my sdr, but also my br330t, Bcd436hp and , pro 93/95's run off it also. Getting another and going to have it attached to my 436 with a slime batt pack.. Cheap around 10 buck from china. Sucks it takes 3 week to be delivered..
