Has anyone come across some conventional/non trunked 800mhz activity on the island ?
800mhz in both NYC and LI is almost 100% trunked but i have found a few conventional licenses -

2 of these freqs are also licensed to "Aeronautical Radio" which is apparently a trunk system out of JFK airport [link]
I dont think this is active however...

I occasionally hear school buses on 854.2125 PL 186.2 so i would guess it is off that Manorville repeater

I see its licensed to them as well
I get a rather weak signal in nassau which is why i guessed it may be coming from Manorville

Got analog voice on 857.7875 in central suffolk
I have got voice on this before and it is supposedly part of a trunk system out of Manorville [link]

I have also picked up the control channel of that system 860.9125 at one time or another but i seem to have trouble receiving it even in the area
The other system out of Manorville that is mostly used by taxis i can receive fine [link]
So perhaps they may be using 857.7875 as a conventional repeater?
I did not notice a tone on this freq

Seems to be a conventional repeater
