I am pleased to announce the return of our Scanner Radio Presentation at this year's Ham Radio University.
Ham Radio University is Saturday, January 4th, 2020 and starts at 9am at Long Island University. Their Website is: Ham Radio University . Ham Radio University holds 25 classes (Forums) lasting 50 minutes each through the day. For a full schedule, check the Forum list: Forums I've presented an "Intro To Scanner Radio" forum for many years. Due to the response from previous year's classes, I've been asked to come back again this year and give the forum a another time.
In recent years, I have also added an Advanced class at HRU. This year's HRU is packed with forums, and my Intro and Advanced classes will be compressed into a single 50 minute forum.
The forum will be packed with the following topics: - Basic terms for those just starting out in the hobby
- Simplex, Repeater, Duplex Operation
- PL, DPL, NAC, CC
- FM and FM Narrow
- Digital Modulations
- Undestanding Trunking
- P25, DMR, and NXDN
- P25 Simulcast Issues and what it means for Suffolk County Scanning
- Radio Picks for 2020
- A quick look at SDR
Forum handouts are located here: http://www.w2lie.net/hru I hope to see some of you this Saturday. 73 Phil / w2lie
