Saw a car the other day "Village of Westbury Code Enforcement" with what looked to be a low band antenna on it

Maybe they could be using the old village freq 48.02 [link]

Was it a fairly new vehicle? That would be a good indicator that the frequency is still being used.

It could also be a VHF whip i suppose - I did close call DMR on 154.100 in Westbury and from home i pick up CC 3 TG 1 SL 1 which sounds like it may be some type of building inspectors/code enforcement - not sure why they would be using that freq

When i saw the village car it looked like they were checking parking meters

Yes, the Village Code Enforcement is largely parking enforcement. BTW, freq. 48.02 was never a Westbury Village frequency. It was the Westbury Water District's freq. along with a few other water districts. No connection between them and Village government.

I actually recall seeing 48.02 listed somewhere as possibly being used by Westbury FD - never heard any activity on it

Westbury DPW and water dept. were on the EDACS system most recently
I dont hear much activity with the exception of snowstorms and whatnot

I still havent confirmed anything for the 154.100 DMR

Westbury FD, which is a water district fire dept, not a village FD, did use the water freq (48.02) as a secondary frequency or alternate channel many years ago, but no longer. Strictly on UHF now.

Oh ok - i think Manhasset FD use to do a similar thing where sometimes they would use a freq licensed under "Manhasset Lakeview Water District"

As far as Westbury - they have 3 TG's on the county EDACS system -
09-091
09-092
09-093

Im not sure what the difference is between the 3 but at least one of the talkgroups is used by snow plows during storms
