All the fire departments have 800 radios. Nassau County Jail and Numc still use 800 as well for communications.

What i was told from a reliable source that while all FD were eligible for the EDACS radios - due to budget and once it was discovered that there were dead spots in the system(five towns area comes to mind) some depts did not want to bother with it

NC Jail and NUMC still use this system as well as OEM is still doing their roll calls about once a week
Most village/city halls seem to have a EDACS radio and check in with OEM during the roll call

During events like the LI Marathon OEM will have a command post and issue radios to FD/EMS
They operate on one of the OEM tac talkgroups for such events

Getting some activity on TG 03-153

Just sounds like radio checks at this point but i havent found any info on this talkgroup

Can someone tell me what the control channel is today? Was picking up jail yesterday while out that way with my 436 but did not catch the cc. Want to try getting it from home.

A big problem with the Edacs system is there are not enough sites. Hence the coverage problems and why many chose not to be a part of it. It’s also Edacs....
