The 9th Battalion will be using the "Nassau County Mutual Aid Tac-1" channel for a trial period starting on September 1st for fireground operations.

460.350 MHz PL 136.5

This is currently in use for fireground operations in the 5th Battalion as well.

This is such a great idea. If every battalion had 1 common FG channel, even it it was for Mutual Aids - we wouldn't have to program every depts FG into the radios!

Well I know that the 5th and 9th are using this channel. Perhaps some others will eventually come on board.

I've heard 8-6-0 (Williston Park) on it.

Not sure if every battalion will have their own FG - but the plan is to have 460.350 in most if not all departments portables

There is also another freq on the same license - 460.1875 WQSD757 [link]
So maybe they will do something like split x amount of departments on one of the freqs and the rest on the other

Roosevelt uses 460.350 for FG as well

The 6th Battalion has a m/a freq as well as an eoc freq for incidents in the battalion. Not sure if any 6th battalion department uses it.
