To my knowledge, FRES is hoping to pull the plug on low band by end of year. After low band is pulled, you'll have to communicate w/FRES you'll have to on the 700/800 system.

FRES activations will be on UHF Paging West and East. I don't think East is being used yet, due to some issues with Nassau County. UHF Paging West is being used for depts that want to be activated on it. Some of the Vol Amb agencies will continue to be activated by FRES on Medcom 1 freq 155.280

Most depts have their own dispatch, or use a contracted neighboring FD or a township dispatch or PD for services. Most activate and operate on their own UHF. Most depts use FRES for an initial activation only if the call comes through 911/FRES. After that, the local dispatcher takes over.

FRES doesn't dispatch too many agencies 100%. The exception is a few Ems agencies in the 3rd & 5th Div, Fire Island FD's and some FD's in the 5th and 6th Divisions.

FRES will be asking depts to simulcast activations with low band 46.46 (if they're capable) so FRES knows they received the call. Otherwise, I think FRES will request depts to verbally acknowledge the call on the 700/800 system. Eventually, I heard that FRES will keep low band 46.46 active, for receiving purposes only for call confirmation for those depts who still simulcast their activations over low band.

New pagers scan 2 freqs at once. Most depts have their own & FRES scanning. Some depts will do a UHF to UHF cross band with FRES, but it's not really necessary.

Pretty sure they need to active and confirmed to be added to the db. But either way, big thanks to mikey224 for posting. A good amount did affiliate in my DSDPlus groups file.

Anything that needs to be added to the RRDB should be submitted directly to the system on the RR site, not through a forum post.

FYI, I heard Eatons Neck FD ambulance on a call last night. They were using the Huntington 1 10051 (800mhz system) TG for comms with FRES after getting paged out by FRES on UHF Paging West. So that one is active. I submitted to the RRDB.

On another note. Who are these 7 Willy units? Keep hearing them on P25 800 system TG 30001. No other units heard. From what I've monitored they only operate in the immediate Riverhead area. They are, at times, responding to calls that Riverhead EMS (RVAC) is handling, such as MVA's. Heard them handling a transport from an address in Baiting Hollow. Another time mentioned BLS transport to Peconic Bay Medical Center.

Is RVAC contracting runs to a private EMS company? Or does Peconic Bay Medical have their own EMS unit? 7 Willy, who are you?

Been hearing Eatons Neck on 10051 (Hunt 1) for a while on P25 800 Simulcast site 4 . Same rid's have been seen on tg 10053 (Hunt 2) also.

Have heard the following on tg 167 (FRES Ops 3) P25 800 Simulcast site 4 on and off for a few months now.
Mastic
Gordon Heights
East Moriches
Westhampton Beach.
Sound Beach
Eastport

Nov 15th Huntington units were heard on tg 165 (FRES OPS-2) P25 800 Simulcast site 4

Oct 4th Eatons Neck was on tg 163 (FRES Ops) P25 800 Simulcast site 4 and during the summer would also hear USCG during water related activity.

I have asked about Willie units and don't recall anyone having an answer. They are mainly on tg 30001 but same rid's have been seen on tg 30003

Also not sure why 2 sided conversations on P25 800 Simulcast site 4 for Troop L are only using 1 radio id lately. Used to see many different ids and one that seemed to be the dispatcher but now its just the one that's the dispatcher.

Huntington 1 and 2 on the new system are active, prob for testing. FRES Ops 3 has been used for dispatching with Mastic, Eastport and maybe some others for a while now. I assume they’ll switch to their township talkgroups once those go live.

Not sure why Westhampton Beach fd units would be heard on a Huntington area talk group, but right now, as we speak, tg 167 and 10051 seem
to be patched and I am hearing 7-8-x Westhampton Beach units on both tg's.
