Can anyone confirm if Bridgehampton is still using their Vhf system because they are also licensed for a UHF

Thanks Mike. When I was out there a few months ago, I tried to confirm the freq with my radio - so unless they have a different PL on the input, that UHF freq wasn’t active (keying up)
Back a few years ago, I know they toned out and operated on Vhf, 154.19 so maybe it still remains that way. I know years ago they left East Hampton Village Dispatch and they’re now dispatched by Southampton Village PD, who dispatches SFD and EMS on VHF and North Sea also on VHF I believe, so maybe it makes sense for them to stay the same with the neighbors.
Another idea is maybe BHFD and those depts use VHF for paging and response and use the UHF in portables for Simplex FG? UHF is a better signal for getting in and out of buildings.

Interesting enough, if you click the Bridgehampton call sign on Radio Ref - it comes back to Centereach FD with sites at CFD HQ & Smith Haven Mall. Maybe a mall repeater or used to be? |

It was a simple error, a mismatch based on the frequency alone, and has been rectified. |

Yes, they are still on VHF. They primarily use 154.19 PL 162.2 for paging/ops. They also have a VHF fireground, EMS and Fire Police channels. I don’t know what the deal is with the UHF frequency they are licensed to, I'm not aware of that ever being used. They also have a talk group on the EHT trunked system which has been used on rare occasions during mutual aid. |
