| Yesterday I was trying to listen to something going on in Lakeland and used the temp avoid on my 436 to lock out Bohemia. In doing this, I noticed that Bohemia was toning out the same call on 3 freqs simultaneously. Excluding the Fres West, have they always done this on 2 of their own freqs?

| No, this started when they redid their room and migrated to their new UHF Paging freq.
Now when they activate, it’s simulcasts over: Bohemia paging 476.6 Bohemia ops 476.4375 Low band 46.46 | | Back to top

| Thanks for the reply.
I guess since there paging on ops I will lock out their paging freq. I am in Islip Terrace and really don't need to hear them tone out on 3 freqs. I ditched all the low band freqs last month. | | Back to top

| Many depts (mine included) are continuing to simulcast over low band so FRES can hear the activations. Per FRES, they will continue to monitor 46.46 for the time being, for call confirmation of depts they activate via radio. Depts given the calls over the phone, no need to confirm.
If depts aren't going over 46.46, FRES asked that be notified for receipt of call over the 800 system
I wish FRES would have given up an old VHF Medcom channel for depts to use (if they wish) as a common countywide channel like 46.46 was. Depts could simulcast their UHF activations over the VHF, allowing other depts to hear what's going on. Right now, you'd have to listen to a lot of individual frequencies to hear what's happening, as many agencies don't use FRES. But, as of right now - low band 46.46 is still fine. We're licensed for it and will continue to simul over it until it shits the bed. Even then, we still would have to fix, as our remote site backup UHF repeater is turned on/off via tones over 46.46
