As some of you have no doubt seen on the news or elsewhere on the web, Firefighter Jared Lloyd was killed in the line of duty in the early hours of Tuesday, March 23rd while fighting a multiple alarm fire with trapped occupants at a nursing home facility. Jared was a 16 year member of the Columbian Fire Engine Co. No. 1 of the Spring Valley Fire Dept in Rockland County, and leaves behind two young sons.
