Terryville simulcasts operations across 451.375 AND 482.5000. Not sure why..
Port Jeff is completely dead. Can anyone confirm their frequencies? (They’ve been on the same frequencies for a good 20 years now.
Port Jeff ambulance UHF frequencies also dead. Are they on VHF?

When Terryville FD switched from VHF Lo to UHF they were first licensed for 451.375.
When they got licensed for T-band they started simulcasting on both frequencies. I'm
not sure why they continue to do that.
Port Jeff FD (if this is what you are referring to) is 453.8375 DCS 662. This is what
they've been using since their switch to UHF (20+ years ago).
Port Jeff Ambulance aka Port Jefferson EMS is licensed for two UHF frequencies.
The one to monitor is 460.475 DCS 331. They are licensed for VHF but you won't
hear them there (still dispatched by Medcom on 155.280 and talk to Medcom on
the trunked system, Medcom East)

Thank you for the info..
I'm monitoring Terryville now. Thought I was crazy. But Both of their UHF frequencies are only broadcasting half of the conversation (only the dispatcher). Not hearing any of the units transmit. |

Terryville FD units sometimes use only their iPad to give signals to the dispatcher. It's possible that's what's happening when you're monitoring and hear only the dispatcher.
At some point during a call you should be hearing the unit(s) also.
I'm gonna monitor them for a while and see if I hear the units. |

They are (as previously stated) most likely giving the Signal over the computer and the Dispatcher SOP is to acknowledge the over the radio. There are a few depts that do this as well.
Port Jefferson FD also uses 453.2875 DPL662 for paging.
Terryville 451.375 used to be their Main Ops freq prior to them acquiring T-band freqs

| Then it’s prob changed again. The paging freq is shared with North Patchogue FD. Years ago, you could hear them both with DCS 031. Over the years it changed a few times. |
