I think there was at least one truck from just about every Nassau FD active at that time - not only for the Westbury fire but also the Garden City that happened at the same time There were a few suffolk depts as well from what i heard - not sure exactly which departments Of all times that i did not have the radios on Figures
This situation alone is going to make residents - in Nassau at least - seriously consider if a 100% volunteer fire service is appropriate for a changing and more dense LI
I think it was Greenlawn and Dix Hills that were standing by for Westbury. I know they caught a job in the evening while covering the station. Garden City had a fire in the morning around 5:30 or so but no Suffolk departments at that fire.
