Was very, very close to a brand new marked Town Of Islip Public Safety car today and all he had was an 800mhz antenna. He also had a computer in the car. I did not see an 800mhz license for islip.

Nor did I see any uhf antenna on the car. It does look like they transitioned to dmr though their license does not reflect it.

Been off this board for awhile, but check it every now and then....From my understanding the Fire Marshals have switched to a Digital system and Public Safety/Park Rangers are on the County's 800 system.

The rangers and fire marshals are on the 800 system. I have not heard public safety or code enforcement on that system.

The freqs listed for islip are dmr. Their licenses do not reflect a digital emission. But they seem to be dmr cap+ ras.

I believe I might be ready to make a submission for this system (even tho its enc) but wanted to know if someone who understands cap+ could run the following thru dsdplus to confirm I did this right..

network file entry

Cap+, 9999, "Town of Islip"

freq file entry

; Cap+ Town of Islip

Cap+, 9999, 1, 1, 471.3625, 471.3625, 0
Cap+, 9999, 1, 3, 470.3625, 470.3625, 0
Cap+, 9999, 1, 5, 471.3375, 471.3375, 0
Cap+, 9999, 1, 7, 470.9125, 470.9125, 0
Cap+, 9999, 1, 9, 471.3875, 471.3875, 0

site file entry

Cap+, 9999, 1 "site 1 Islip"

from event log
2019/08/26 08:08:18 Freq=470.912500 DCC=6 RAS 470.912500 is first Cap+ repeater (Ch1 and Ch2)
2019/08/26 08:10:00 Freq=470.362500 DCC=6 RAS 470.362500 is second Cap+ repeater (Ch3 and Ch4)

They chucked this system. They were using XPR4550's for DPW. They literally threw them in the dumpster. I am not sure what they're currently using for DPW.

Where did you get your information from? I ask because if your saying they chucked the system, then you may have been misinformed. Below is just 10 minutes worth of history from today.

I was there, at the town auction when the ripped them out and referred to them as "old" radios and threw them out!

They may have disposed of some radios, and that's not being disputed, but their DMR Cap+ System that you stated they "chucked", is very active as seen above.

Are you assuming they ditched the system because you saw some radios go in a dumpster or do you have another reason to believe and state they ditched the Dmr system?

What was the date of that auction and how many radios did you see get ripped out?

Still not sure who is actually using the dmr freqs (uhf in database) but the Rangers, Fire Marshal, Mac Arthur Security and Fire Rescue are still on the Suffolk system where they have been for a long time.
