I just checked and if I recall correctly the VHF frequencies listed in the radio reference database are accurate however the activity is sporadic
Mainly used during times of storms/repairs and whatnot
I see long whip antennas on top of some of the vehicles but I am not sure if that's for radio comms or possibly for some type of test equipment
Most of the VHF channels seem to be low power/simplex but I also recall one of the channels being a repeater

Still seeing the spring loaded whips even on the newer trucks
Also I know for a while they had a 900mhz moto trunk system
I picked up the control channel a few times but never heard any voice
Not sure if that was for a specific facility only or maybe for use in a small area in queens
And maybe about once a week there's check ins on 451.05 pl 151.4 that's like a base to base / emergency type channel for different power plants to communicate

Update - I just noticed there was a submission to the radio reference database for national grid
It looks like they are using this NXDN system
