Lately it seems the nassau fd low band freqs like 46.10/46.32 have gotten very quiet I know for a while they were simulcasting with uhf but I'm not even sure if that's active anymore Maybe low band has finally been vacated

Low Band is essentially dead. Radio manufacturers have slowly discontinued low band base stations, mobiles, portables and pagers. Low band radio antennas are still available but are getting scarce. |

I guess it's looking like 453.875 has taken over for 46.10 Many departments have their own frequency for tone outs at this point |

As of today it looks like bellmore is simulcasting their tone outs between 46.10 and their dispatch (453.7875) |

As of now (11-2024) 46.10 is still used but a bit sporadic It seems that some but not all calls are simulcasted with some FD uhf dispatch I also heard radio checks on 46.10 the other day possibly done by firecom |
