Seems many m/ a departments were having issues with radios not being programmed for Brookhaven tg’s Gabraski airport and Suffolk community collage in those areas. Fd on gabraski runways.
So Fres command post was loaning out radios but many that were there could not get on Brookhaven 8 and 9. West Sayville had it made as they have been using Islip one for a while. Chief told brush truck to stay on Islip one with him, and would communicate to Command on 8. They had issues with truck losing all power with fire approaching them.
Believe Lindenhurst had a radio set up as I heard their signal 2. Don't think Dix Hills had on one the ride out. Did hear 3 5 0 and Brentwood going signal 2.
Maybe they can get the radios all set up properly and be better prepared for next time.
