| Once, they gave an eta of 7 min and by the time FD got there 3 min's later the bird was already on the ground. (Bird = Helicopter). |

Helo-3 services western Suffolk county and runs out of Islip-Macarthur Airport. I believe helo-4 has been running out of Gabreski to serve the eastern end of Suffolk.
Its been an awful long time since I've heard aviation give a 7 min eta unless they were already up in the air, coming from another call. When they get put on stand-by (which is now protocol for every incident that could possibly result in serious injuries, prior to an FD unit getting on scene) they usually spout off 13-17 min eta's. This is because the county purchased new choppers which have an extended warm up time. Its pretty silly to make a large purchase that will only make the response time longer. By the time the bird gets to a lot of these jobs, the victims have already been transported by ground.
Enough beating a dead horse here but I think the 24/7 patrols are usually during the summer and some random points during non-summer months. Thanks for the feedback. |

| This time it took an extra 5-8 min for CVAC to get there. and when i went 21 they alrready had the back doors of the bird open with the pilot right next to the doors. |

That is an old listing. Within the last year they purchased 1 or 2 new helicopters.
The fordyce site has not been updated or maintained for quite some time which is very unfortunate.

Not a specific frequency. They use the SCPD 800 MHz TRS - Usually on Command Band. You will need a Trunk Tracker scanner to hear it.
Helo #1 - ASTAR
Helo #2 - MD-902 (secondary Medevac @ Westhampton Airport)
Helo #3 - Eurocopter 145 (primary Medevac @ MacArthur Airport)
Helo #4 - ASTAR
