many people list the frequency of 153.7400 as aviation- OLD but it is not! whenever the aviation bureau gets a dispatch/call/request it is done so on this frequency then they switch to the precinct they are responding to, then on the way back to the hanger they switch to 477.2875 .

NCPD aviation comes out of Bethpage, and yes 153.740 is still very much active. Lately I have noticed every time aviation goes up they come over ch.3 2-8pct and say there 10-1 on patrol or going to whatever assignment there are going on then switch to that appropriate pct. channel.

Do they choose ch. 3 to make this notification b/c of the hangar is located in that precinct? Curious why they choose 2/8.

They have always used F-3 to give their status - Probably because of the location of the base.
