Well after finding this sight , I decided to dig out my old scanner and it turns out that I have a an old Bearcat 2-4 Thin Scan. 4 Channel VHF Hi/Lo I put my 4 AAA batteries in it and turned it on… It worked… Lights were flashing but didn’t pick up anything.. 46.10 is one of the crystals in it and I compared it to hearing it on the web sight but I didn't hear anything. I have come to conclusion that my scanner doesn’t work? Or is there something else I should know? Maybe the tower was move?? But I live about ½ mile from the tower in Garden City. Do Crystal become out dated? Any advice?? The scanner use to work great…

i have 1 of those 2....it could be possible that the crystal can be in the wrong pegs...could be in the hi side instead of low...or the crystal can be for a regency scanner not a bearcat.....i tried a bearcat ( bc 46.10 ) crystal in a fannon scanner and it wouldnt work but it does in my bearcat 3......good luck to you on this matter

Thanks... But I haven't touched it in 20 years I put some fresh batteries in it and turned it on. I haven't touched the crystals at all... I know 46.1 is in there and put the web on to cross check to see if it worked and nothing... played with squelch and volume also.. Oh we'll maybe I don't need it after all since I found this websight.. Thanks...
