| I have not bought a new scanner in a long time,Last one I bought was the radio shack pro-2066(has to be more then 7 years ago).It was easy to program the frequencies.Just purchased the BCT-15.Been browsing this site and see that you need software to program this scaneer.does this mean it is not the old scanners where you just enter the frequencies you want without any software?
What other accesories should I buy for this scanner to get the fully ability of the product?

| You could program the scanner by hand.
You'll have to think differently than you are used to.
First, you will have to create a System. Then inside that system, you need to create a group In that group you can put your frequencies. You can add more than 1 group (I believe up to 20) in a system.
Example on how I have mine setup: System = Nassau FD Conv Group 0 = Countywide Group 1 = Battalion 1 Group 2 = Battalion 2
ETC ETC
The System is assigned to a System Key
Hope this helps!
Also - Think about an external antenna. it will greatly improve your reception
