Well, lets do a process of elimination. Their using radios with UHF antenna's, and from being nosey, they have a hold-time after their transmissions. So they're on a UHF repeater =D

They could be on any frequency in the UHF business band. Since you seem to have the "details" wouldn't it have been a better answer if you gave the frequency and maybe a PL tone to go with it??

I'm just saying that it's a start. I don't know the frequency either. A hold time is a delay after the transmission.. You'll know from the hold time that it's a repeater. Because there's no hold time on simplex.

I guess the question remains - how do you know there is a squelch tail if you don't know what frequency they are operating on..

I checked the FCC database for frequencies in the Deer Park Area. Non are registered to "Tanger" or anything else that looked like a good hit. They could be using any VHF or UHF commercial frequency of their choice, or they may even be using FRS for all we know. (Some department stores use FRS even though it is against FCC rules) - Or they may even be on a community trunk system

PW, what type of scanner would you be using to try and find what they are using?? Maybe it has a 'close call' or 'stalker' feature that you can turn on. Who knows, you might even find some of the outlet stores as well..

I know that they're on a UHF repeater because I saw one of the guards using the radio. It's a UHF radio. It's a commercial radio... Pretty sure it was a Kenwood. I was listening to what was coming out of it, and after the voice, was a hold time. Simple.

I guess the Freq's are registered to the security company Securitas. The reason i'm trying to get it is because i'm going to be working for them and they said i could use my own radios, because their radios are cheezy and have no mics on them.

The only listing I see for Securitas Security Services is in Florida.

Even if you had the frequency, you would need the PL/DPL tone as well... For all we know they could even be leasing space on another repeater or trunk system.
