I know it seems like things here have been quiet, but I assure you that we are still maintaining all the hardware on the back end of the live feeds and website.
Updates for 2021:
A new computer was put into service and the old live feed PC hosting the NCFD-East, SCFD-West, NCPD, and SCFD feeds was finally retired
The new computer runs windows 10 and has enough hoursepower to do a lot more than running a few scanner radio feeds
Stay tuned for what is coming next as far as live feeds
Due to a plumbing issue in the basement, the 'monitoring post' was dissasembled and relocated to the opposite side of the basement this past June
New antenna line had to be quickly run across the basement in order to continue to bring the live feeds
NCPD Feed has offically been retired. There is no sense in keeping that feed around.
Due to the new PC not accepting the old PC's PCI hardware, we had to come up with another solution. Amazon's $5 USB Sound cards were a quick and temporary "fix".
New Years Eve - a new Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 was installed as our new audio interface device.
We still have plenty of upgrades planned for the site as time allows.
Right now, we are stil focusing on " Scanner School", which is a weekly podcast and a monthly YouTube Live Q&A platform I run.
You can check out the Podcast website here: https://www.scannerschool.com
We've launched a few courses as well on how to use Software Defined Radios and will continue to launch courses into 2022 and years to come.
We are also growing our YouTube channel over at Scanner School, so be sure to subscribe to that here: https://www.scannerschool.com/youtube
Finally - we have a Discord Server up and running. Join the community at [link]
