Electronics recycling on Long Island

Is there anywhere on Long Island that takes in electronic items for recycling?
I'm trying to get rid of junk laptops and other assorted electronic items. I really don't want to send them to the landfill.

Depends on the township - some of the towns offer "E cycling" days where you can drop it off at a designated spot
Not sure if you need to be a resident or not
