Yeah, when Nass was just 500mhz that's what I called the system. I just populated the sites file with the updated info for the sites.

In any event, between Suffolk sites 3,4 and 6, not one is reflecting any of the newly added sites.

I was also in East Farmingdale / Melville area today and did not receive anything from the Huntington site. Might not have been close enough.

I don't believe any of those three sites are on the air yet, as they would be reporting as a peer to some of these other sites.

So essentially what we're seeing here is that the county is pretty determined to keep 700 and 800 separated. Aside from some intel we received that the codeplugs are setup to basically duplicate the 3CE system as two separate systems...700 for FRES and 800 for Law, the fact that the 800 cell is not announcing the 700 cell, and vice versa, makes it pretty clear that they don't want users roaming between them automatically. Interesting decision.

GTR8000, you are correct they are set up as two systems. From the knowledge I have being involved with communications with my department and the info I’ve received from my colleagues at FRES...

So far the only thing consistent on site 3 is Riverhead fd 1 & 2 and the East Hampton patch. I don't see Fres Page East or West anymore. Heard the techs talking a while ago saying they really need to get moving on the fd side of things.

Dave, 700 is dedicated to FRES and yes Riverhead 1 is in use for 6th Division Dept’s and Riverhead 2 for Riverhead Ambulance. FRES Paging East hasn’t been in use at all and Paging West occasionally in use on Sundays, (why I have no idea) but was told that the dispatchers have the discretion to “turn it on” and simulcast UHF West. I have also noticed that on Sunday’s FRES Ops 3 is Simulcast on Riverhead 1. In time it will all be worked, this is all the beginning....

I figured as much. A while ago I duplicated the Suffolk system and just had the 700mhz site with all fire related tgs. Now I added the 700mhz east to that and rebound its quick key with my uhf fd. Just wish they would get all the FRES tg's on 700 full time so I can ditch the smartzone system.

You can ditch the Type II Smartzone, all of the talkgroups have been migrated over. I don’t really see any reason to monitor the Type II, from your location Site 4 and Site 3 on the P25 system is all you need and should come in crystal clear...

One down, one to go. Now just need Fres to get onto the 700 side so I don't have to run 3 systems to hear fire related stuff.

They are determined to keep them separate because once the system is fully implemented, that E switch is going to be flipped HARD and FAST. You can thank those who stream PD online, the politicians think anyone can now get their hands on PD traffic due to the internet rebroadcast morons. Couldn't just stick to rebroadcasting FD only. Ruined a great hobby.
