Heard what sounded like either aircraft comms or possibly one of those "numbers stations" on 18.45 the other nite
According to this list [link] 18.17 to 18.74mhz is federal

I also know that NYPD recently got a license [link] that they may use if they are near the suffolk airports but the radio i am currently using only starts at around 5.95mhz

There has been ALOT of interference/splash over on shortwave the past couple days
From around 3mhz all the way up to 27mhz
Just alot of noise or pulses/tones
I think one of the causes of the interference is called the "Woodpecker" which is some type of radar thing used by Russia

the "russian woodpecker" was the nickname given to the russian over the horizon radar system called duga which is not active anymore and im not sure what replaced it.

Well there is definitely a lot of jamming or something going on and it sounds very similar to the woodpecker
It can even be heard all the way up to CB channel 9 or 19

Shortwave very active the past few days

Heard possibly a numbers station on 1830khz

Also very strong signal on 4004khz sounds like some type of radar

Similar thing on 4454khz but more of a pulsating tone
Almost sounds like a flute or something
