Anyone know where these guys communicate radio wise? The had 2 tg's on smartzone and that's dead now and nothing on P25.

Anyone know if these are in use?

855.2125 FB2 County of Suffolk (Suffolk County Sheriff)
811.9375 FX1 SUFFOLK COUNTY SHERIFF (SUFFOLK COUNTY SHERIFF) 5.0 SC JAIL

I'm not really sure but from the looks of it they are probably using the 811mhz freq on simplex
Either that or a very low powered repeater you would probably have to be very close to the jail to hear anything
You said they used the trunk system at one time I'm just curious do you recall what the comms were related to?
Things like inmate transport or?
That's how Nassau did it on the old 800mhz system
There was jail related activity but mostly for inmate transports and outside security
I assume they used some type of simplex/low power for actual internal jail comms

From what I recall it was stuff like that as well as a roll call. They had 2 talkgroups on the old system [link] and so far, nothing on the new system that I can find.
