Hi,

I dug up my old Bearcat BC785D and was wondering if it is still usable to monitor Suffolk Police channels? I never really got it set-up correctly from day 1 so I am not sure how to even start. Read the manual and re-read (Most of it) again recently. Still have no idea if it works or if it should work. I'm mostly interested in monitoring local Police, Fire and EMS.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks.
Mike

The scanner will not work on the new upgraded 700/800 P25 trunked radio system in Suffolk County anymore. The only use you will get out of the 785D will be monitoring anything analog / conventional on low band, high band VHF or UHF / UHF-T band. In other words, you will still be able to use it for monitoring local fire departments and EMS agencies.
